Justin Pastores, install shot of Tahimik I-IV, mixed media on paper
Hey Hey. Here's a recap of what happened over the weekend. Friday night was the opening of Against All Odds in North Beach. Sunday was Jason's birthday and trial run of his first Sunday's studio sale.

During the opening I met lots of visitors and received good feedback on Tahimik. We discussed their own connection and responses with the works along with my own.

I met a person named Myrna (not sure on spelling). She revealed to me her childhood and father's legacy to preserve their heritage through language, independence, and strive to always aim higher. Another person I met named Stephanie enlightened me on the juxtaposition between different cultures view speaking. From a friend she said something around the lines of how some eastern places like Japan, intelligence is expressed through silence unlike western cultures where it's the reverse.

I'm really trying to get better with taking photos during openings, but it's just so distracting. I managed to pull some off though. A few of them have been provided by friends of the artists. Thanks Crissann & Sandy!

To see more from the opening night, you can visit the gallery's site here

To see more of the other artists, check out their
work below. They are busy busy folks with shows all over SF throughout October.

Topher Maka

Crisscross Applesauce! I Had tea with my niece on Saturday. Pictures 1 & 3 were from a different time, but this is pretty much the set up. We had Rockaroni with our tea. You can even add it IN your tea. That's how versatile Rockaroni is. It's aromatic and had an earthy mineral finish. Lamby enjoyed it.

Sunday I visited Jason's studio. He has a shit load of inventory. Mainly plein airs of the Bay Area and of the Foothills. In the mix were a few still life's and figure paintings here and there.

He plans to open his studio every first Sunday's of the month, so come on by and pick something up. You might find something familiar to you.

I plug his website often. So I'll give away his Facebook page.
