Here's the other rejected painting. I do admit that it's not the best representation of my skills, especially that ear on the barber. I'm finding it harder to keep things in balance between looseness and tightening up. For this, I used a brush with no underdrawing. I'm starting to go back to using pencil to tighten up my drawing before I go hard with the paint. Watercolor is a tricky medium. Just when I thought I got the hang of it, the medium decides, "hmm nehh, let me show you something else." Thanks watercolor, thanks. I've got another group show coming up with the folks of Inks of Truth. It's this coming Sunday, 10/18 from 5-9pm. It'll be located at the growing restaurant, Pampalasa. I'm working on new watercolors that will be on view there. Come check them out!
